About the Guidebook

Primary focus will be about the tucked away hole in the wall, treasures and unique cafes or restaurants around Melbourne, Australia. One of the most exciting attractions, unbeknownst to outsiders of the city, are its 'laneways.' We might refer to these as alleyways or back streets in the west, but there is something undeniably distinguishable about the Laneway Culture. We are not referring to unattended rear walkways, but incredible outdoor galleries of street art, fine dining spots and culturally influential bar homes.

Local Knowledge & Cool Perks

Perspective is everything, even better is a multifaceted one and I've been lucky to develop just that. I've been able to see Melbourne through multiple lenses: as an international student, a recent graduate looking for international work, an ambitious twenty-something struggling to turn passion into profession, and a foodie with a discerning palette and soft-spot for proper coffees. I only point out the spots with dining experiences that "think outside the box" and do things a bit differently. This guide highlights those areas which my truly local friends have noted, off the beaten footpath.

About the Author

I am a graduated study abroad student to Melbourne, who ended up working at the Embassy of Australia back in the U.S. and then couldn't stand being away any longer! I moved back and lived in Aus as a working professional until I gained more international experience. I am a world travel lover and foodie, as well as an aficionado for quality coffee, culture, good people and great music... I found these abundant in Australia but continue to seek them out around the globe.

only really suggests one place to go 'off the beaten track'. as guidebooks go would expect a bit more, i guess i should have relayed from the price.
