Day 1 - Taste the Town
It would be easy to spend all of your time in Portland eating and drinking. The craft breweries, the coffee roasters, the food carts and fine dining restaurants...
But the best start on a Saturday or Sunday is to head to Saturday Market along the waterfront. Grab a local coffee as you meander through the homemade craft stalls and pick up a few souvenirs. Sample the local jams, chocolates and fresh favorites at the stalls and catch some tunes before emerging from the crowd.
From here, catch your (pre-organized) pedi-cab tour of the Eastside breweries, which takes about 3-4 hours. Rose Pedals takes you to Hair of the Dog, Cascade and Burnside Brewing but you can change the itinerary if you have other preferences.
Still on your feet after all the beer you've tasted? Head to Kennedy School in Northeast for another tasty beer with some great food in a unique atmosphere. Top off the night with a soak in the hot pool ($5 per person) or catch a movie at the onsite cinema before curling up in one of their rooms or making your way home for the evening.
